Chapter 111.
Waking up in the winter was always good. Crisp air. Snow just made the football more fun. You could play keeper in a completely new way and dive for saves like never before. The day felt like an eternal thing. There was a certain atmosphere in the neighbourhood that made you feel alive. There were so many kids to play ball with you almost never got time to just hang out alone.
On this particular day, I was home alone. Dad’s white piano looked stellar. It was some sort of keyboard. I could choose different sounds on it. El piano sounds smooth. Not the tine one thought. Too.. tine-ey. Cling cling. One of the El piano’s was split. The lower region was actually a bass. Weird.
Now, how do I make hip hop with this? I need drums. A piano is nice but the drums do the heavy lifting. I have to ask dad how I do this. He did teach me some chords. They sound professional. What if I just move my fingers all up or down 3 steps or so? The black notes are cool. I’ll use more of those.
Me and Maggi decided to write rap lyrics today. We don’t really know how but what we wrote down wasn’t bad. It was hella fun mostly. I’ll write more tomorrow and see if there is a way to make it flow better. It’s a bit staccato and I would really like for it to just flow easy. Subject matters are a weird thing. I guess I could just write whatever but having a subject matter kind of makes everything easier. A concept.
Holy shit, I wrote in english today. It sucked but hey, it was fun as hell. Or actually it didn’t suck as hard as I thought it would whilst writing. The latter part of the first lyric was actually quite okay. I wonder if I can ever record this shyd? That would be dope. Then perform live. I think there is a chance that could be the dopest. Just stand on a stage and shout this shyd at some people. I would have to move my body during the non rap parts though. That’s a bit weird. Do I dance? I guess I’ll figure something out. Can’t dance though.
Maybe I’ll just write songs that have non stop rapping. That was I won’t even have to worry about it. I’ll just not breathe for 4 minutes at a time. Just spit shyd the entire way. I’ll have to write in some crowd engagement then. Throw ya hands in the air bidge! Naw, too threatening. Crowds are mostly christian. Not sure what to do with that. The dudes at church mostly like that insanely heavy metal. Vengeange rising and such shit. It is dope but not excatly a party thing. Feels like it should only be played where people like fighting each other.
I don’t think I’ll ever stop writing these lyrics. I am very unsure how to get through a class without just writing. I figure one day it’ll just stop, but that thought also makes me sad. I have a few notebooks full of lyrics now and would love to record the shyd. Maybe dad can let me in on a session and I can sneak in some shyd. What should I start with?
To be continued.
